What are Chocolate Truffles?

The origin of Chocolate Truffles is shrouded in mystery. According to the legend, more than a century ago a French chocolatier first invented “les truffes au chocolat”, a recipe which was born out of necessity as it was crafted with the leftover ingredients he had on hand in his workshop.

When the story reached Italy, it was the artisans of the close by Piedmont who refined and elevated it, blending fine chocolate with the worldwide best hazelnuts: the Nocciola Piemonte.

Today, La Perla di Torino creates more than 20 different Chocolate Truffle recipes, all gluten free, known and loved both in Italy and worldwide.
