Description
A “natural amphitheatre” is a terrace with steps or a steep slope on which vineyards are cultivated in hilly or mountainous regions. These terrace formations are reminiscent of the seating arrangement in an amphitheatre, where rows of seats are arranged in ascending tiers around a central arena. When applied to vineyard cultivation, these terraces stand out for their scenic beauty and functionality. As well as looking very evocative, it also offers drainage, sun exposure and ventilation. In the wine region around Mount Etna, the steep slopes and high altitude of the volcano have led to the creation of these “natural amphitheatres”. Gaining international recognition in recent years for the uniqueness of its wines, many of the wineries are small and family-owned, often following traditional winemaking practices that emphasize the production of quality wines. SRC, the small project run by the Parasiliti family, know their 17 hectares of vineyards plant by plant, and, with passion and love, they make fresh, mineral and inspiring wines.
Vines averaging 50 years old give life to this Etna Rosso DOC Alberello, a pure Nerello Mascalese that brings the beauty of the Sicilian terroir to life in the glass, just as the SRC winery loves to interpret it. The grapes ferment spontaneously, macerating for approximately three weeks; it is then aged in concrete tanks for thirteen months, before being bottled, without the addition of any sulfites, during the waning moon. Lively and satisfying on the palate, it is a wine that perfectly embodies both the grace of the denomination and the magic of the grape variety used.

It displays a deep, dark ruby red color. The bouquet on the nose reveals notes of ripe cherries, leather, licorice, and light spicy nuances. On the palate, it is juicy, full-bodied, with perfectly balanced tannins. It finishes with a medium-long finish.
