Scuppoz – Family run distillery based in Abruzzo, founded in 1982, following the traditional way of producing Digestives and Liquors.

Back in the days the shepherds noticed that the sheeps after their meal, were going to lick Gentian plants and they realized over time that the roots of Gentian stimulated digestion.

Genziana delle Pecore is a white wine based digestive, composed of a blend of three hand-cut roots. The process is entirely artisan. And white wine manages to extract all the aromas of gentian root, creating a distillate with an articulated, bitter and round flavor

The root of the plant and, less commonly, the bark are used to make medicine. Gentian is used for digestion problems such as loss of appetite, bloating, diarrhea, and heartburn. It is also used for fever and to prevent muscle spasms.

It tends to taste grassy and vegetal, with a signature tangy aspect. Bittersweet root herbs scent.
