Umbrian Lentils 500g - Bartolini

The flagship of Bartolini’s range of products, lentils are grown on our farm’s land and the special climatic conditions of these areas give them a very small size and a color ranging from green to brown. They also possess a skin that is not very thick and very tender, so they can be cooked without prior soaking.

Lentils are one of the first legumes cultivated and consumed by humans.

They boast a remarkable and peculiar nutritional value: among plant-based foods they should have a prominent place in the weekly diet as, due to their composition, they allow for a better balance and greater completeness of the food ration.

In fact, they are an excellent source of protein (they contain as much if not more than meat) and carbohydrates consisting mainly of starch, have a high dietary fiber content, and are a generous source of mineral elements among which iron, one of the nutrients most scarcely present in foods, stands out.
