Malloreddus, or Gnochetti Sardi (Little Sardinian Gnocchi), is the Sardinian word for gnocchi. The shape of the pasta is similar to cavatelli, but the dough is made with semolina instead of flour, giving the gnocchi a sturdy and toothy texture. This pasta is typically served with a heavy tomato sauce with meat (lamb or beef), a simple tomato sauce or butter and pecorino.
